Specially Made All Natural Dog Treats

Throughout my life I've always been very creative, from loving crafts to decorating, cooking and baking. I have done a lot of baking and creations with chocolates, and continued in my family's footsteps by baking and cooking. My aunt wrote 3 cookbooks and has passed along many appetizing family recipes. I've attended cake decorating classes and I have sold some of my specialty cakes to restaurants and bakeries.

My passion for great tasting food that was healthy and all natural has begun a new chapter in my life. In early 2007 I decided to go on an organic diet that would have all the elements I was after, which was great tasting, healthy, and all natural. After only 5 months of being on my new organic diet, I was amazed at the results and especially the way I felt. I felt like a new person full of energy and I just had an inner feeling of being healthy. I have a little Maltese named Zoë (he is so cute) and as I started eating better and naturally, I of course wanted him to be healthy and eat more naturally. He was enjoying the new recipes and food choices just as much as I was and noticeably Zoë was looking healthier, full of happy energy and glow.

I thought, "Why not bake him treats and biscuits (being I am a baker and come from a family that loves to bake) that could accompany my little Zoë with his newfound love of natures best foods." I searched the web, purchased doggie cook books and began to bake. As I made each batch of cookies and cakes I sampled each one (yes I did eat them) because if they weren't good enough for me to eat, why would I feed them to my dog? Finally, after many trial batches of biscuits, hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars of natural and organic ingredients, I've come up with my favorites that seem to work the best because they have what I wanted in natural foods; great taste, and of course they were healthy and natural. Every treat I bake is made with all natural ingredients, no additives and my dog Zoë loves the finished products.

Now that I have these great tasting healthy and all natural treats for my dog, I needed to share my treats with my family and friends who had dogs. The results were outstanding and just what I had hoped for. Their dogs couldn't get enough of my natural dog treats. But most importantly, the dogs looked healthier, happier and more full of life.

I had perfected the taste and ingredients of the biscuits and treats it was time for decorating and innovation. I started my search for every possible shape of cookie cutters I could find. I visited countless bakeries for ideas, looked through many cook books, and searched my computer for my perfect line of all natural dog treats.

Zoë’s new healthier lifestyle and my passion to make other dogs as healthy and happy as mine encouraged me to take my products on the road. In early 2007, I took my treats and biscuits to high school holiday fairs, road shows and conventions, and they were an instant hit. I was not prepared for the demand of these customers who had purchased treats for their dogs, because they wanted to buy more of them. In January of 2008 I decided to rent a booth at a pet expo in Pennsylvania. Here I expected to truly find out about my product and its real place in the dog treat market. At the expo, I learned a lot about retailing, concerns of the pet owners, and I was competing with many other different types of companies selling other dog treats. At the end of a long exciting weekend I felt great about myself. The feedback from the pet owners and lovers and expo attendees about my dog treats and biscuits was more than I could have hoped for. People were also eating them as well!

My passion to provide pets with the healthiest all natural and great tasting treats was a success. Pet owners were impressed with my quality and the presentation. Throughout the weekend I was noticing that many pet owners who purchased my treats had also dressed their dogs. With each new show I learned more and more of my customer's wants and needs. My all natural dog treats have remained true to my original recipes and my clothing line such as dog sweaters, dog jackets, dog hoodies and sweatshirts, dog collars continues to grow. I've never been afraid of hard work and still found some extra time so I started making my own line of dog bows. To me it's relaxing and a way to continue my philosophy of originality and quality for pampering my pooch. It was January and quite cold so jackets, sweaters and coats seemed to be proper attire. Now I had the idea to round out the treats with some quality clothing. I started searching for hand knit sweaters raincoats and alike. I booked 8 more pet expos during the following 12 weeks, the largest available in the northeast, each being a 2 or 3 day event in 6 states.

Summing all of this up, I've had the busiest 8 months of my life. My husband supports me through all this and I could never have done this without him. Some final comments as an avid baker and of course a pet lover is "if I won't eat my own dog treats, why should my dog?" I sell creative items for your pet that make the owners and the pets look good and feel happy. Throughout these shows I've had professional photographers, and magazine columnists stop by taking pictures and writing about eating dog food which in my case are treats for me and my dog.

I will continue to offer Quality and Value to every customer. That's my pledge.

Thank You,

Annie
